Greetings HWB readers;
Please help us welcome this week’s Industry changer, Alnie (Wedding Planner) of Simply Lavish Planning  – Miami.

Can you tell our readers a little bit about yourself ?

My name is Alnie Innocent. Born and raised in Haiti. Before everything I am Christian, Everything I do is for the Lord. A long time ago I turn my passion into a carrier. Aside from  planning weddings and events, I mentor Young Haitians in Delray and I also help with the Innocent Children Foundation in Haiti. I am all about helping people. I also own a Gift boxing company. I am gift boxing for all occasion and also a taste of Haiti box (Different Haitian gourmet in a box)

                         What’s a normal weekend like for you?

A normal weekend for me would be having family or friends over for dinner or lunch but unfortunately I am always out socializing so I can always provide the best vendors for my clients.

What inspired you to start your wedding planning business?

It all started as hobby, I was always planning birthday party, dinner, trips etc. for myself , my friends and my family. I started working with my God-Mother after high school in 2006 at her decoration shop. But planning is always dear to my heart.

      What are some of the challenges you face in the wedding industry?

The challenge I face most in this business is you have amateur who have no idea what they are doing pricing couple the wrong prices which is killing the business

       Dealing with couples is not easy how do you stay motivated?

knowing at the end of day I will be part of the reason why they have a smile in their faces and I was part of making their specially the best day of their lives

 What are three things that no one tells you about being an wedding planner?

You should treat it like a real business (hire the right team), Experience is a must, Have a coach/mentor is a must if you want to be successful in this business

   What advice would you give to a upcoming wedding planner?

Get a mentor and work/intern with another planner for a while before opening your own business.

               What’s Next For you and your business?

Go full time, mentor an upcoming planner  and go after the million dollars weddings.
